This fourth session of the True Self series introduces the first of four practical steps towards achieving personal spiritual transformation.

“In my own study of Baha’u’llah’s spiritual model of human living I have discovered a well-defined pre-requisite steps in achieving personal spiritual growth. I call these progressive stages of personal spiritual development The Four Steps to Spiritualization.

I believe that these groundbreaking teachings, when adopted and practiced on a daily basis, will transform the individual into a refined and high-minded member of the human race….

Baha’u’llah teaches that we all, without exception, are in need of knowing God and partaking of His abounding love for us….

‘The endowments which distinguish the human race from all other forms of life are summed up in what is known as the human spirit; the mind is its essential quality. These endowments have enabled humanity to build civilizations and to prosper materially. But such accomplishments alone have never satisfied the human spirit, whose mysterious nature inclines it towards transcendence, a reaching towards an invisible realm, towards the ultimate reality, that unknowable essence of essences called God.’….

‘There are four kinds of love. The first is the love that flows from God to man; it consists of the inexhaustible graces .… Through this love the world of being receives life. Through this love man is endowed with physical existence …. This love is the origin of all the love in the world of creation.’…”
